I get this question all the time.  Patients have a reasonable expectation of privacy while in their healthcare provider’s office.  This means not using their full name in the waiting room.

Choosing whether to use a first name only, or Mr/Mrs.Last Name is up to each practice and what is written in their policy and procedure.  Just make sure you train all staff on this policy and document that training.
