You didn’t hear about the Sonoma County Indian Health Data Breach in March? Neither did we. In fact, while browsing the HHS Wall of Shame, I was surprised to see a local data breach that I hadn’t heard anything about in local news – especially since 662 people were effected.
What’s more concerning is that it’s difficult to find any information on it other than what is listed in the HHS Wall of Shame Portal. What we do know is that 662 individuals were involved in an Unauthorized Access/Disclosure involving a Desktop Computer and Email Breach that was reported on 03/30/2018.
This breach doesn’t appear on the California Office of the Attorney General’s website either, which leads me to wonder if effected patients were appropriately warned?
