Isn’t this rain wonderful? Our thirsty reservoirs are loving it. Our help desk, however, is not.
With winter storms come the usual calls of power and internet outages. Sometimes we can reboot a modem or firewall and get an office back up. Most times, we are waiting on the Internet Service Provider to repair the issue causing the outage.
Short power outages can be addressed with battery backup units. Longer power outages will drain those batteries after 20 minutes or so and then turn off your computer and/or server.
