Does this look legitimate?
We get calls and emails asking about possible scams all the time.
In this case, it’s a solicitation, but it’s using techniques that could be misunderstood since scammers use the same urgency, fear, uncertainty and doubt to get your money and commitment.
Fortunately, the law requires that all solicitations state so clearly. Even though the solicitation appears very official looking, you can tell if it’s real or not by looking for the disclaimer — in this example it’s circled in red at the bottom — in teeny tiny print, but it’s there.
